Job Description – General Manager

We’re looking for a dynamic, results-driven general manager with an absolute love for the hospitality industry to join our team!

This position is responsible for overseeing both the day-to-day and the “big picture” goals of the business. You will manage recruiting, training, team organization and other HR-related functions. You’ll be expected to ensure that the business complies will all food and safety regulations. Meeting and exceeding our customers’ expectations must be a top priority. You will be involved in developing the beverage program and you will oversee maintenance of our POS system (we use Revel). As a young business, we will look to you for guidance in developing and implementing policies and operating procedures. You will oversee inventory, purchasing and vendor relationships. Along with ownership, you will work to ensure that the financial objectives of the business are met and that daily accounting is in good order. Above all else, you must be flexible and willing to wear many hats in order to drive the business towards its goals.

We are a small (but growing), locally-owned restaurant serving fresh oysters, craft spirits and chef-driven cuisine. We are passionate foodies and we’re hyper-focused on customer experience. We’re a small team, so roles are fluid and everyone is expected to help out however and wherever they can. We have an amazing clientele who believes in our mission as much as we do. But we have room to improve. That’s where you come in.


About You:

Our ideal candidate is kind of nerdy about the restaurant industry. Craft spirits, locally-sourced ingredients and adventurous food offerings excite you. Moreover, you love to share that excitement with others. You know how to energize a team and you exude the right mix of leadership and affability. You’ve been in the restaurant industry for a long time, and it shows through your ability to stay calm and lead your team effectively through the weeds. 3+ years of restaurant management experience preferred.
